BRAIN REWIRING

23 Aug BRAIN REWIRING

Published in 2020, Amy Brann’s book Make Your Brain Work is spot on for making our brains more efficient and productive. The added benefit is that if you employ the strategies in her book, your mental and physical stress will be reduced.

The culprit for much of our stress is cognitive overload. Besides juggling work and home responsibilities, we have to process attacks from hackers (which happened to us last week), wars and the instability of governmental and financial markets.

According to Brann, in order to rewire your brain: put your full attention on whatever content you’re developing or learning. Being curious will keep you focused on the task at hand.

Next, engage actively: Do this by setting your Intention, or why you need to learn the material or solve the problem. Then teach someone else, which locks in the new insights and learning.

The scientific community accepts Neuroplasticity. Simply put, it means that you can learn new things and adapt to change at any time in your life. Go out and form new habits. The mental and physical rewards result in a better brain, less stress and higher self-confidence.
