Birdsong

21 Mar Birdsong

Born on a Minnesota farm in the early 1900’s, the DeZurik Sisters shared uncanny powers of observation. Their skill was remarkable. Imitating the birds on their farm in perfect harmony, Mary Jane and Carolyn produced sounds of whistles and trills. They incorporated these birdsongs into their music and standard vocals. This rustic novelty act, sometimes called “trick yodeling” rewarded the Sisters with national fame and careers in film and television.

Speaker Gold is when you find and create a unique take on a subject. By taking a careful look around, you can draw parallels to the content of your talk or create a fascinating, unexpected opening. The mundane isn’t always mundane. Famous painters created masterpieces from human subjects, stacks of hay and bowls of fruit. You can too.
