Breathe Deep

25 Aug Breathe Deep

Last week we traveled to the west coast of Vancouver Island. It was an escape from the pressures of a book launch and desert heat. First dawn found us on a slate gray beach, early rays of sun filtering through dense forests, lighting up glistening kelp. The cedar and hemlock forests made us slow down and breathe. Like ancient Celts who considered trees their ancestors, we felt their life force and eternal patience.

Quieting our minds allows us to reflect on our lives, even if it’s behind closed eyes in a busy place. Every experience is stamped into our memory, and with it comes knowledge and wisdom. But the rush of life sometimes belittles how important reflection is, and how we can fold experience into narrative.

Stories, examples, insights all take digging into our memory banks. Find your ancient forest and allow your life to unfold before your eyes. You will never be at a loss for meaningful material that will color your presentations.
