Stand Tall

27 Jul Stand Tall

Opinions based on ideology are whimsical flights of fancy. Empirical evidence is what’s needed to prove your point. Empirical evidence is acquired through observation or experimentation, rather than theory or speculation. It relies on direct experience and vetted data to support or refute a claim. Empirical evidence is the cornerstone of the scientific method and critical for speakers.

Today, both AI and politicians are filling our world with confusion and chaos. How do you confidently choose source material for your presentations? Use the scientific method, where you (or trusted peers) attempt to poke holes in your hypotheses. Schedule a rehearsal where these “hecklers” try to break your rhythm or flow and dispute your claim.

Standing up to a challenge and defending your ideas is an opportunity, not an attack. Respond with grace, and if your ideas are based on fact or direct observation, you need never fear.
