Recently, Tom Brady, NFL Quarterback/ Broadcaster said Nothing matters before Thanksgiving, meaning that now is the time when contenders for playoffs and the Super Bowl are determined. This is also the time for you to make a mark in the coming year.
The New Year is an opportunity to face and overcome challenges. Deborah was a film and television director, and David was an actor. Challenge was baked into every project they took on. But many don’t leap into the speaker arena so blithely, especially when all eyes are on them.
For early Homo Sapiens, when an animal stared at them, it wanted to eat, breed with, or kill them. No wonder humans developed acute motion sensors and feel fear or anxiety when stared at. But there are no saber-toothed tigers anymore. So look at the bright side.
If your challenge is being on stage or camera, go for it. Learn the skills, techniques and safety nets that pros use to be successful. Then rehearse and start in low ante environments—similar to pre-season NFL games. With enough coaching, practice, and determination, you will improve, and turn the saber-tooth tiger into a warm, purring pussycat.
